2-engined Bomber loss at Austria June 30th, 1944 - 08/16/2008 04:27:46 PM
I've got the information that an 2-engined bomber crashed southeast of Vienna on June 30th, 1944. 3 crewmember were recovered only dead. There is no further information available yet. Can anyone provide me with more information? Thanks in advance! - Kurtl

P.S.: Could it be the B-25, Serial: 42-64977, MACR 6575 of the 41st Group?

  • Regarding 42-64977 of 41st BG it was lost in the Pacific:
  • Serial Number: 42-64977
  • Report Number: 6575
  • Location: Nauru Island
  • Point Of Departure: Starrman Field Makin Atoll
A check at Aviation Archaeology & Footnote.com reveals no crash near Vienna on the specified date.

Thanks for your qucik answer. So this B-25 cannot be the aircraft I am looking for. I guess now that it was a Vickers Wellington of No 150 Sqn, No 205 Group that was lost in that area in the night of June 29./30. 1944. Thanks for your help. - Kurtl
