Jaap, regarding B-26 41-17790 from 319th BG 437th BS: The 319th BG was moving overseas from USA, and the aircraft was bound for Scotland. 2nd Lt Wall's Marauder was lured off course by false German radio signals when it approached Scotland after leaving Iceland. Above an overcast it headed out over the North Sea towards continental Europe. Then they had a failure in a fuel transfer pump, resulting in flight on one engine. With less than five minute's fuel left they saw a coastline and belly-landed on the beach, just to discover that thay had landed on enemy territory, North Beveland in Holland. The aircraft was later repaired by the Germans and test flown by them. The B-26 was a new encounter for the Luftwaffe at that time. Added photo of this B-26 after it came on German hands.

The DC-2 stuff sounds interesting, but what is it exactly ??? Have more scans of the actual 319th BG Marauder, can send them to your e-mail address (which I have lost due to computer troble). If you mail me at home we'll get connected.
