2Lt Cecil I Rhodes November 2nd,1942 - 08/28/2006 10:40:39 AM
Hi !
This pilot got killed while flying an Airacobra in England. His plane crashed at Sealeber Force and he bailed out too low.
Was he a member of 81 FG ? Which was the serial of the plane he was flying ?
Many thanks and best regards from rainy Belgium
Luc

Dear Luc,
The Lancashire Aircraft Investigation Team has a story on its website about the crash of P-39 BX195 at Settle on November 22, 1942 flown by Lt. Cecil Rhodes.
A/C was originally delivered to the RAF but handed back to USAAF,  flying with 1st FG at Goxhill.

Hi Leendert,

Many thanks for your reply. The website you mentioned gives another date than the book by Stan D Bishop and John A Hey MBE " Losses of the US 8th and 9th Air Forces ". So me must try to go back to an 'original ' source...
Best regards
Luc
