28th BG missions - 10/18/2004 06:36:36 AM

Can anyone supply me with a list of combat missions flown by the 28th BG (C) in the Aleutians. I am intereseted in missions flown by B-26 Marauder aircraft only. Information on targets attacked, dates, and number of aircraft dispatched would be very much appreciated. In addition any info on B-26 aircraft that served with this group.

The only specific mission I have been able to find out about was the one on October 16, 1942, against the Hatsuharu and the Oboro. If you do not have information regarding this mission let me know and I will give it to you.

My Dad was the squadron navigator for the 73rd BS and was part of that mission. I have been unable to find other mission records or persons regarding the 73rd BS, 77th BS or the 28th BG. If you have found a source could you let me know ? Thanks!!!

I have found a history of the unit that provides a mission list in somewhat of a summary form. Some of the missions give details of the number and type of planes during the period that the B-26 was in use. The 77th replaced their B-26's with B-25's in October of 1942.
