2009 Reunion in Omaha

I am pleased to report that the recent reunion held this past weekend was a resounding success. Veteran attendance was way down due to mostly health issues, but that did not dampen the spirits of those who were able to attend. The P-38, Ruff Stuff, flew in on Saturday for all to see and even get to sit in the cockpit. The weather was not good enough for a flyby, but the pilot (Rob Ator) gave us all a big treat when he did a seven-minute engine run of both Allisons. He cranked them up to almost full power and it literally brought tears to the veteran's eyes to hear a P-38 again. The next reunion is in the works for 2010 in San Antonio, Texas.
