1st Lt. James L. Terry - 05/11/2008 09:29:50 PM
Looking for any information on a cousin, 1st Lt. James L. Terry.  I believe he was assigned to the 463rd BG, 772nd Squadron and that his plane crashed on August 19, 1944 during a raid on Ploesti.
 
I have located two (463 BG, 772 Sqd) aircraft that crashed on this date:
S/N 42-31824
S/N 44-6194
Not sure if either of these is correct.
 
Any and all information on him or his aircraft will be appreciated.

My father was copilot on transition to being pilot on 44-6194 (Berlin Sleeper III) on 2 sorties.I am sorry that you lost your cousin.
My father(Pilot) was on that August 19,1944 mission.The target was the Xenia Oil refineries.On my dad's log book it says FLAK holes:Intense FLAK.
