19 April 1945 , Capt. Sutton 's B-24 shot down in Italy - 05/01/2007 08:07:48 AM
I am looking for any possible information about planes and mission of 849th BS that took place on April 19, 1945 to supply resistance groups located near Sondrio, Valtellina Valley, Italy.
One of them , Capt. Sutton's B-24 , crashed near my house in Tradate.
It was shot down from a group of italians BF-109G (fascist air force "Aviazione Nazionale Repubblicana") .
That plane was the last italian victory in WW2 and an italian pilot , Lt. Morandi was the last ANR lost.
Can anyone tell me serials, number of planes that joined, pilots/crews lists/timing of this op. loading list , drop zone, etc. ?
Where can I found those infos?
Can I contact a crew member?
Can You help me?
Thanks in advance and....Sorry for my bad english!

After a long research , finally I've found the correct MACR number and A/C serial : They are not 14189 and 42-94816 but 14028 and 42-50428!!
They flown in 2641st Special Group Provisional from 859th BG based in Rosignano , Italy.
The plane was shot down over Tradate , north Italy and crashed 10 Km from my home near Cislago / Gorla Minore .
Can anyone help me to contact , if possible , some crew members still alive?
Thanks in advance.
