154th Weather Recon Sqdn - 05/26/2008 03:26:03 PM
My father flew a P38 Lightning doing weather recon during WWII.  He was stationed in Italy.  He was in the 154th Weather Recon Squadron of the 15th Army Air Force.  I am trying to locate others who may have been in that squadron, or who had a father or grandfather who was in that squadron and who would be willing to share information and or stories.  Renee Herres

My Uncle flew P-38's with the 154th out of Italy from 1 Sept 44 to 12 June 45.  His name was Charles F. Kyle.  I am doing family research on his wartime career.  I have copies of his Army Qualification and Certificates of Service plus a copy of an accident report.  I heard that a book about the WWII experiences of the 154th squadron and its personel called "Story of A Squadron" was written by a fellow named Fredrick Gillies.  Has anyone heard of this and can tell me where I might purchase a copy?  Thanks in advance for any help.
Ken
