1539th AAFBU SOUTHWEST PACIFIC WING PACIFIC DIV ATC

HI  i am researching my uncle he was in above unit at end of war. can any one tell me what air force unit he would of been in? like 15th aaf or 10th ect. what patch would of been on his uniform? what planes did this base fly ect. any help wouuld be great. many thanks from oshkosh wi.

Your post actually tells it all.  The 1539th was part of Air Transport Command, and did not answer to any numbered Air Force.  He would have worn the generic winged star as a shoulder patch.
