12th BG in North Africa

I am researching the Middle East during World War II, specifically for August 1942.  I would like to find out the Group and Squadron commanders for the 12th during that period.  Is that information available to anyone?  If command changes occurred during the month, I am most interested in the period August 14-19, 1942.

Thanks

John,

That information is on the AFHRA website at http://www.afhra.af.mil/factsheets/factsheet.asp?id=9637 (12th Operations Group).  I also have that information on my website at http://www.cbi-history.com/part_i.html#37.  Hope that helps.

Gary, Your website is great! I just moved my Dad in with me and he was crew chief for the B-25 in the 434tgh group. A dashing and rowdy, as I hear his stories, sergeant. He showed me the presidential citation bar all the 434th received for being behind the lines. What an amazing group of men the N. Africa and on fighters were. My email is amlookingglass.yahoo if ever you have questions for Joe Rickey or have info I can share with him.
Thank you!
Alice, daughter.

Alice..I don't think you mean the 434th. The three B-25 BGs in the 12th AAF ,  were the 310th, 321st, and 340th BGs.

310th BG  379,380,381,and 428th BS.
321st BG   445.446.447,448, BS.
340th BG   486,487,488, 489 BS

According to Maurer-Maurer, the 434th BS was assigned to the 19th BG  in the Pacific, and the 434th FS was assigned to the 479th FG that flew from England.

Please tell your dad Joe that I appreciate his service! and I wish him well.

When was Joe with the 434th Bomb Squadron? Did he make the 12th Bomb Group's move to India in Mar-Apr 1944?

If Joe or you would like, I could share the few digital images of 12th Bomb Group planes, 1 or 2 of 434th Squadron.

I do know that the 434th flew B-25's. My grandfather was a Capt. in the 434th and all he flew were B-25 Mitchells. Mostly doing bomb runs over Italy.
